I am a BAMT and HCPC registered Music Therapist based in North-East London.
I trained at the University of Limerick where I developed a specialism working with people living with chronic pain.
Prior to training, I worked for 10+ years for London music services, specialising in working with children and young people with additional needs.
I work with children and young people in their homes, or with adults at a private garden studio.

Music therapy is an evidence based practise that can support and address a client’s needs and goals.
Music is used as the central theraputic tool to address social, emotional psychological, communicative, physical, sensory-motor, and cognitive functioning. -
Depending on the needs of the client and the focus of the session, a wide range of musical activities might be used including but not liimitied to:
Listening and discussing recorded music
Songwriting
Making playlists
Improvisation

No. Anyone can access music therapy regardless of musical experience or percieved musical ability.
There is no expectation or requirement to make “good” or “beautiful” music.
Instruments that are accessible to play are provided by the therapist, although you are welcome to bring any instruments you want to play.
